Vaccination can prevent a number of infectious diseases.

Before travelling to another country, it is advisable to check with a local health practitioner which vaccines are required or advisable for your country of travel. This can also be an opportunity to check that you are up-to-date with the routine vaccination schedule for your own country.

The documents at the links on this page are primarily intended for health practitioners to help them advise travellers during pre-travel consultations.

Routine vaccines for review before travelling

These vaccines are recommended to provide protection against diseases endemic to the country of origin or of destination. They are intended to protect travellers and to prevent disease spread within and between countries. Some countries require proof of vaccination for travellers wishing to enter or exit the country.
